What is HYROX?

HYROX is an international competition that combines running and functional training in a standardized, accessible, and measurable format. Each race always follows the same structure: 8 km of running interspersed with 8 functional workouts.

The 8 Official HYROX Workouts

Each race follows the sequence: 1 km run + 1 workout, repeated 8 times.

Here are the official workouts:

  1. SkiErg – 1,000 m Total pull work: arms, back, core.
  2. Sled Push – 50 m Sled push with regulated load. Pure power.
  3. Sled Pull – 50 m Sled pull with rope. Technique and stability.
  4. Burpee Broad Jumps – 80 m Burpee with forward jump. Endurance and rhythm.
  5. Rowing – 1,000 m Indoor rowing. Involves legs, back, and arms.
  6. Farmers Carry – 200 m Carrying heavy kettlebells. Grip and posture.
  7. Sandbag Lunges – 100 m Forward lunges with sandbag. Strength and control.
  8. Wall Balls – 75/100 reps The iconic finish. Medicine ball to target: legs, core, shoulders.
